We are an official chapter of the worldwide organisation UrbanSketchers. This is link to Urban Sketchers so you can read more about their approach and find other groups in the UK and around the world. This is the manifesto that we follow:
- We draw on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation.
- Our drawings tell the story of our surroundings, the places we live and where we travel.
- Our drawings are a record of time and place.
- We are truthful to the scenes we witness.
- We use any kind of media and cherish our individual styles.
- We support each other and draw together.
- We share our drawings online.
- We show the world, one drawing at a time.
During BST we meet each Tuesday evening somewhere in Northants to draw. Anyone is welcome to join us, beginner or experienced artist.
We meet to sketch at places around Northampton and in Northamptonshire on the first Saturday of each month from 10.30am; the second Wednesday from 10.30am and the third Tuesday evening from 7pm. We meet every Tuesday evenings from mid April to mid September. We also sketch at various local events as a group or informally.
